Preamp Overdrive Clone

I find that this circuit, instead of being overdrive pedal like more famous screamer pedals, great as a boost pedal. Put this before dirts, put before phaser and get more out of it, put before wah and get more to wah.
So far, it's not that great teammate for active pickup--though I haven't tried every thing avail. When plugged into orange micro dark i still get the unpleasant top end fizz, string separation not so good when hit low chords like f-sharp etc. However when i use a sg type guitar with alnico v pickups in it and xxv pedal after it, it really does good job of gain stacking.
This pedal does well in adding some grit on top of a rather clean tones, gives a little push to amp that's already in edge of break up, or to use it as clean boost with led diodes that clip less hard and a bit louder.

I put a spdt switch to be able to select between two pair symmetrical diodes. In this one has a pair of 1s1588 and a pair of 3mm led red diffused diodes. Before this set I got the other spdt mounted with a pair of 4148s and 3mm red led diodes (the ones with diffused white lens--i found this has unpleasing clipping). I avoid to have darker voicing as much i can, so i leave germanium 1n60 diodes out.
Metal can (or jellyfish?) lm741 opamp is louder and a bit darker than the standard dip-8. By the way, i looked online, vintage dod 250 can reach up to $700. ok. great.
